SEO + Storytelling + AI + IRL Events = Growth

Events are the new frontier for marketing, especially in a world where AI leaves us wondering what is real and what is fake. Even Mark Cuban is hedging his bets on it.

I had a fantastic opportunity to speak on a panel for NY Tech Week last month. Major thanks to Fluentica Marketing Agency for including me. We had almost 200 people in attendance during a busy week of over 800 events scheduled across many industries and sectors.

We discussed the different marketing methods that most businesses focus on and shared different ways that they can be used - as stand alone channels, and as cohesive cross-platform campaigns.

Key take aways for those of you working on aligning your marketing across channels:

• Start with the story. The best brands know their why and how to communicate it. But just as important? Measuring what’s resonating and then optimizing or pivoting with data.

• SEO isn’t dead, it’s evolving. Long, keyword-stuffed blogs aren’t as helpful with search anymore. Today, it’s about weaving keywords into storytelling – making content conversational, digestible, and intentional so it actually connects and converts.

• Social = search. 64% of Gen Z now use platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and even YouTube as their primary search engines. That means your brand needs to be discovered through short-form video, behind-the-scenes content, creator collabs – not just a blog buried on Google.

→ This is where AI comes in: Use it to understand keyword trends, generate captions or hook ideas, and optimize how you show up in-platform (not just on your website).

• Be scrappy, not scattered. Events don’t need huge budgets, but they do need intention. From the venue and food to the guest list and QR codes, every touchpoint should reflect your brand’s values – and create shareable moments.

• Email still matters. Still one of the best ways to own your audience. Segment, test, and speak to different stages of your customer journey. Keep your content simple and to the point.

Bottom line: SEO + storytelling + AI + IRL = growth.
